Every year around October I begin to think of what to get others for Christmas.  Our families are big on lists but I always try to find something "off-list" to give.

Since most of my gift list ideas will include some of those surprises I'm hesitant to share what I'd recommend you get for your friends and family.  So, I've decided to share my Christmas wishlist!

This weekend we are going with our friends to a lake house in Northpoint, MI. The 7 of us will be cooking out, visiting local wineries and taking long walks on the beach.

For the weekend away I plan to wear cropped jeans, comfy sweatshirt tops and sperry topsiders. My sister-in-law gave my mother-in-law this beach bag from Loft for Mother's Day and I am going to snag one for myself!

The point of the weekend is to relax and enjoy the company of our friends. And a lot of snacks and wine.

Someone has also made the promise of s'mores.

An ad in the commuter newspaper this morning said that H&M Dresses are 25% off this weekend (starting today). That isn't the case on the website so it could just be in stores but it is worth checking out!

We had a taste of spring temperatures yesterday and it is enough for me to jump head first into spring fashions!

Mom said not to play with your food and your trainer says that you are what you eat but your style guru tells you to wear your food*!

We went out browsing this weekend (not much real shopping until after the SELF Drop10 challenge is complete) and noticed a lot of delicious pieces on display.

Gap has a collection of printed boyfriend button downs our favorite is this Tea Cup (or Cappuccino) print. The styling with a bright poppy blazer and cropped jeans is spot on for spring temperatures... whatever those are!

Anthropologie has the Fruit Stand Shift by Dusen Dusen and nothing reminds us of summer than fresh fruit. 

J.Crew has a pear sweater and a watermelon necklace in the crew cuts section.

Color Me Trendy - Wear to Work

It is difficult to maintain multiple wardrobes. One for work, one for working out and one for going out. So we are always looking for good cross-over pieces to add to our closets.

An obvious way to add current trends to your work wardrobe is to incorporate menswear pieces. Oxford style shoes are a great way to hit the trend, stay comfortable at work (in flats) and be totally work appropriate.

A black patent oxford will become a classic. There are a lot of options out there but our favorite are these by Salvatore Ferragamo. 

Then I love wearing head to toe black and adding some color with a blazer or a sweater.
