Color Me Styled - Dress for the Weather

With temperatures ranging from the 60s to the 80s in the next week it is challenging to pick a style and stick with it. But you don't have to rush into fall just yet... there will be plenty of time for jeans tucked into boots with sweaters and scarves (it is only the 2nd week of September).

We were spoiled this year with unusually hot temperatures so 70 degree temperatures feel cold, but they're not! You'll be sweating after 20 minutes if you've got a long sleeved shirt, scarf and jeans tucked into boots.

Since it might be difficult to decide what to wear with temperatures being all over the place and the change in season, I've decided to put together this little guide. It works for me and I hope it works for you!

If the temperatures are in the 70s or higher - tank or Tshirt with a cardigan and shorts or a skirt and you should be fine. If temps are in the low 70s and there is a breeze, skirts or dresses with tall boots is cute (have high socks stick out the top... this is a favorite look of mine).

60s - long sleeved T with a denim jacket and jeans or long pants but with flip flops, flats or sneakers. Or, skirt / dress with tall boots and tights.

Anything under 60 - now is when we can tuck our skinny jeans or leggings into boots(I know you've been wanting dying to.) Be sure to wear socks and rock a puffy vest with a long sleeved shirt or a short wool jacket.

If it is colder than 40... it is time for winter boots and long, warm coats. And hats and mittens.  Since outer layers can be tricky to navigate too... you can find a guide on coats we've put together here

Spring and Fall are layer seasons. Always have a cardigan, jean jacket or blazer with you and a scarf doesn't hurt either. This way if the weather is a "cool" 65 you're prepared. And temperatures change day-to-day so planning ahead for the week can be tough too!

Maybe we can try a new fashion rule... No jeans tucked into boots after Easter or before September 21st (date kind of picked at random but you get the idea). Main street fashion has given us a wide array of delightful flats (TOMS, ballet flats, Sperry's) in a wide, WIDE range of styles. Take advantage ladies!
