After a day of giving thanks and two (maybe five) for getting deals today is the day for giving back.

EGBOK devoted to connecting young adults with their potential as hospitality professionals.  They teach, train, and prepare their students the ins and outs of the service and tourism business and the impact is immense.  Each student has the potential to bring home more than 3x the national family income average in their first year.  This is a life-changing program for these students and their families.

The Evan Roy Witty Memorial Scholarship at the University of Dayton

This scholarship is just being created now and it will go to honor the memory and spirit of a true Dayton Flyer at the University of Dayton forever.  Evan was my cousin and a dear friend to countless classmates of mine and left a trail of smiles behind him everywhere he went.  He unexpectedly passed away while volunteering in Cambodia in 2009.  And this community of friends and family has begun this scholarship as a way to preserve his memory. It is difficult to believe this April will be 5 years without him in our lives.  Although, we all know he is really here with us in spirit.
